The Bunce Island Coalition recently presented an 80-page engineering report on the old Fourah Bay College building to the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Hindolo Trye.

The building at Cline Town, said to be “one of the most beautiful ever built in the city, was constructed in the 1800’s and was frequented by many students until it was to moved Mount Aureol some 100 years later.

Presented by US engineering firm Atkinson-Norland & Associates, who were hired by the BIC, the report highlighted a series of recommendations for construction engineers to follow in the future, regarding the reinforcment and preservation of the building.

The members of the Bunce Island Coalition said the report will help to bring government and interested parties together to raise the funds needed to rebuild the structure which, in turn, will preserve the historic heritage and relics of Sierra Leone for the many future generations.
